Purpose of Job
An Artisan Fitter supports production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes and utilising all available support resources to increase stability and maintain sustainability of the plant and/or equipment.
Key Accountabilities
- Service and general maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Fault-finding and problem-solving on mechanical equipment.
- General Pneumatic knowledge
- Record-keeping.
- Adherence to quality and safety systems.
- Compliance of Safety Management Systems
- Able to apply emergency procedures
- Read, Interpret, and implement task risk assessment
- Hazard identification/task risk assessments
- Understand and use the plant maintenance documentation system
- Must be able to work shifts.
- Safety conscious and practice good housekeeping
- Conform to Sasol Values
- Must be able to work overtime.
- Actively participate in discussions to improve maintenance and quality
Formal Education
Completed Matric/Grade12 or equivalent with maths and science
Completed Trade Test Certificate
Code 8 drivers License
Minimum Experience
6+ Months working experience
Having worked in explosives manufacturing environment will be an added advantage
