Purpose of Job
To reduce the diameter of a lead stubby and to cut delay elements into the required cut lengths. Compliance with all SHERQ procedures in daily operations.
Key Accountabilities
Assemble and Operate 2 main Machines (Drawbench and Traub)
Do fault findings on the machines for any deviations from the setup
Reduction of delay stubby into a required diameter using draw bench machines
Perform quality checks on drawn tubes and cut element using Shadowgraph machine to ensure that all units meet the specified cut length
Housekeeping to maintain 5s standards
Do stock count of all the raw material in the production area
Do visual inspection and use relevant measurement tools and capture information on the Lot Traveler
Completion of production documents
Movement of cut elements into the heated storage area
Be able to work under pressure
Be able to work full shifts and overtime
Consciences and diligent
Detail oriented
Maintain a high standard of integrity
Fosters teamwork and collaboration
Able to work on your own with little supervision
Formal Education
Grade 12 or Equivalent with Maths & Science
Working Experience
2+ years of experience in Explosives Manufacturing
Plant specific experience (Delay Manufacturing – D3) will be an added advantage
