Purpose of the Job

The Business Intelligence & Pricing Analyst Eurasia provides analytical, commercial, and financial support for Sasol’s Alcohol and Technical Formulations business across the Eurasian region. This role supports contract negotiations, pricing analysis, product line profitability reviews, and the budgeting and forecasting process. The position ensures that business intelligence, pricing, and performance data are delivered accurately and on time to guide effective decision-making and profitable growth.

Key Accountabilities

Business Intelligence Support

  • Deliver accurate and timely commercial performance reports covering volumes, prices, margins, and product line profitability.
  • Analyse trends in pricing, cost, and market dynamics to support the identification of opportunities and risks.
  • Maintain dashboards and business intelligence tools to enable management visibility of key performance indicators.

Pricing Analysis and Implementation

  • Support the regional pricing process, ensuring that price lists, minimums, and conditions are correctly implemented in SAP and communicated to Sales.
  • Evaluate price realisation and monitor deviations versus guidance or mandates.
  • Prepare analytical insights to support contract and tender negotiations.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Provide input into the quarterly pricing, volume, and margin forecast for the Eurasian business.
  • Support the development of annual budgets and rolling forecasts through data analysis and coordination with Sales, Marketing, and Controlling.
  • Validate alignment of commercial assumptions (volumes, pricing, exchange rates, costs) with regional and global expectations.

Performance Analysis and Reporting

  • Consolidate and interpret commercial and financial data to support decision-making by Marketing and Product Line Management.
  • Track and communicate key deviations versus plan, budget, or prior periods.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for regional management reviews.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Product Marketing, Controlling, and Supply Chain teams to ensure consistent and data-driven decision-making.
  • Coordinate with the Senior Business Intelligence & Pricing Analyst to ensure data alignment and consistency across systems and regions. 

Formal Education

  • Bachelor's degree in science / engineering / business / finance and/or evidence of product and / or market / business analysis in the Industry

Working Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant working experience in a commercial, analytical or business intelligence role 

Required Personal and Professional Skills

  • Strong analytical and quantitative capability with the ability to turn data into actionable insights
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI)
  • Working knowledge of SAP and commercial reporting systems
  • Solid understanding of cost, margin, and pricing structures
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and process discipline
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across regions and functions
  • Commercial acumen and proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Proficient English (written and spoken). Additional European languages an advantage
