Role Summary

The Global Process Owner – S2P is accountable for the global S2P process design, S/4 template ownership and consistent process and control implementation across entities. The role ensures adoption of Procurement defined buying standards by translating them into standardized processes, embedding and system enablement while driving automation compliance and supplier lifecycle performance across the organization.

Key Accountabilities

Common GPO Accountabilities

  • Own the global S/4 S2P template including process standards, approval logic, controls and system integrations.
  • Define and enforce global purchasing standards; manage deviations through structured governance.
  • Drive template deployment and ensure consistent adoption across regions and Business Units.
  • Define KPIs for compliance, touchless rate, exception levels and cycle time; ensure measurable post-deployment benefits.
  • Embed segregation of duties, policy controls and audit requirements directly into system design.
  • Translate procurement and finance requirements into functional specifications in partnership with IM/Digital.
  • Define process data requirements and collaborate with Data GPO/Data Lead to ensure supplier and transactional data quality.
  • Resolve integration gaps between sourcing, contracting, buying and R2D financial postings.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on simplification and automation.

 

Process-Specific Accountabilities

  • Embed buying standards and approval logic within S/4/ Coupa template.
  • Define global KPIs and enable them through standardized system configuration.
  • Standardize supplier onboarding, risk checks and contract compliance processes.
  • Strengthen sourcing-to-contract-to-purchase integration and spend transparency.
  • Standardize invoice validation and exception handling design to reduce organizational complexity.

Required Personal and Professional Skills

  • 15+ years in Procurement and/or Procure-to-Pay transformation and operations, with demonstrated enterprise process ownership experience.
  • Deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA procurement (P2P) and Coupa, with a strong understanding of compliant purchasing and AP-integrated processes.
  • Proven track record in Procurement transformation, including global template governance, S/4HANA deployment and adoption/value realization.
  • Strong experience with process governance and BPM tools (e.g. ARIS) and analytics/process mining tools (e.g. Celonis or Signavio).
  • Solid understanding of internal control frameworks, segregation of duties and their translation into process and system design.
