Purpose of Job

Sasol is seeking a strategic and business-focused leader to drive the International Chemicals Talent, Culture & Workforce Capability agenda. This role serves as the senior HR capability integrator, ensuring talent, leadership, workforce capability, learning, culture, engagement and change initiatives are aligned to business strategy and deliver measurable outcomes. This role will work closely with business leaders, Strategic HR Business Partners, and Group Centres of Excellence to shape future workforce capabilities, strengthen leadership effectiveness, build organizational resilience, and support transformation across the business.

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Define and govern the International Chemicals people capability roadmap aligned to business strategy and transformation priorities.
  • Partner with senior leaders to strengthen leadership pipelines, succession planning, critical skills readiness and workforce resilience.
  • Drive workforce capability strategies, including future skills, digital fluency, AI literacy, learning and leadership development.
  • Act as the key interface between International Chemicals and Group Centres of Excellence, ensuring business requirements are prioritized and effectively delivered through enterprise frameworks and solutions.
  • Champion culture, employee experience, engagement and organizational effectiveness initiatives that enhance business performance.
  • Lead people-focused change management efforts supporting transformation, workforce changes and digital adoption.
  • Leverage people analytics and workforce insights to identify and mitigate leadership, succession, workforce and critical skills risks while prioritizing capability investments and measuring business impact.
  • Ensure governance, business adoption and measurable value realization of enterprise talent, learning, culture and workforce capability frameworks.

Formal Education

 

  • Relevant degree in Human Resources, Industrial / Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Business, Behavioral Sciences or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification or recognized executive / specialist certification in talent, leadership, organizational effectiveness, change, learning, people analytics or strategic HR is advantageous.

Working Experience

 

  • 12+ years of experience in strategic HR, talent management, learning, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, culture, engagement or related disciplines.
  • Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders and leading complex initiatives across multinational or multi-business environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable business value through people capability interventions.

Required Personal and Professional Skills

 

  • Strategic workforce and organizational capability expertise.
  • Strong talent management, succession planning and critical skills management experience.
  • Expertise in leadership development, learning strategy and workforce capability building.
  • Experience leading culture, employee experience, engagement and organizational health initiatives.
  • Strong change management and transformation leadership capabilities.
  • Understanding of AI-enabled work, digital workforce trends and future workforce requirements.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Ability to influence, challenge and collaborate effectively with senior leaders across diverse geographies and functions.
  • Proven governance, prioritization and value realization capability.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance business priorities, workforce risks and enterprise governance in a complex global environment.
