Purpose of Job
- Manage the execution of operational and financial audits with a focus on high level risks within the Sasol International Chemicals business.
- Develop annual audit plan, schedule audits, and coordinate audit teams.
- Establish work standards and procedures needed for the inspection and appraisal of financial and operational records and control environment.
Key Accountabilities
• Review the planning memorandum and audit program to ensure focus on high level risks and internal control. • Evaluate special audit requests from management and allocate resources to conduct audit if necessary. • Contribute to the development of auditing policies, procedures, and programs. • Prepare reports for the Group Executive Committee and the Sasol Limited Audit Committee on significant governance issues identified and progress against annual audit plan for area of responsibility. • Monitor the quality of audits executed to ensure they are in alignment with the Sasol Assurance Services Operating Model. • Conduct quarterly peer review of audit working papers for other functional managers within the Assurance function. • Provide expert advice to business on best practice and effective implementation of group policy. • Respond to management queries in relation to the internal control environment within area of responsibility. • Provide training on risk management and assurance within area of responsibility. • Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend changes to internal controls. • Provide oversight and assess the execution of required follow-up activities on agreed management actions and provide an opinion on the outcome of the assessment. • Develop and manage the SAS USA budget and USA cost center for all SAS team members located in the U.S. • Contribute to the development of tactical plans to support the implementation of the SAS strategy and drive the implementation of changes to SAS processes and systems. • Perform/ manage other SAS EXCO duties assigned by Sasol’s CAO.

- 20+ years of relevant experience

- Competent communication and writing skills
- Expert level knowledge of internal control systems and evaluation of operational and financial processes and internal control weaknesses
- Knowledge of risk management systems and processes
