Purpose of Job

Apply advanced electrical engineering knowledge to design, develop, analyse and improve electrical systems supporting Oil & Gas facilities. This includes responsibility for electrical networks, power distribution, motor control, protection systems, and plant electrical infrastructure. The role ensures safe, reliable and efficient operations through engineering excellence, compliance with applicable standards, and implementation of best‑practice electrical engineering methodologies.
The position requires broad expertise across electrical system maintenance, planning, design, and support for processing plants, ensuring that business and operational requirements are met.

Key Accountabilities

  • Apply detailed and specialised knowledge across multiple electrical engineering domains relevant to Oil & Gas operations;
  • Define, plan and execute electrical engineering scope for small electrical and multidisciplinary capital and operational projects;
  • Use approved electrical engineering systems, modelling tools and calculation software in all engineering work;
  • Develop electrical project execution plans, schedules, resource needs, and risk assessments;
  • Support contractor selection, bid clarification, technical evaluation, and supplier quality assurance activities;
  • Provide day‑to‑day engineering support for electrical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation of the plant;
  • Analyse reliability deviations, identify failure trends, and implement corrective/preventive actions;
  • Undertake incident investigations and root‑cause failure analysis (RCFA) for electrical system failures;
  • Develop, improve and govern maintenance strategies for new and legacy electrical systems;
  • Support long‑term asset management strategies and obsolescence plans for electrical infrastructure;
  • Identify gaps in electrical systems and technologies, perform gap analysis and develop improvement plans;
  • Provide coaching and technical mentorship to Engineers‑in‑Training (EITs) and technicians;
  • Demonstrate professional maturity, strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement abilities;
  • Work effectively in a diverse, multidisciplinary environment, respecting different roles, cultures, and operating levels;
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, operational, and industry safety standards for electrical systems;
  • Demonstrate continuous commitment to personal development, performance improvement and engineering professionalism.

University Bachelors Degree
