Purpose of Job
- Operate specialized general and laboratory equipment for research of chemical composition of substances, assimilation, and interpretation of data.
- Apply all relevant systems and processes of the business / project in use, relating to safety, according to established standards.
- Design experimental/analytical approach to provide accurate and reliable experimental results, use expertise, and provide solutions for company leaders.
Key Accountabilities
- Safely carry out work according to work instructions, quality requirements and schedules;
- Commission, calibrate & operate a variety of instruments / modification of equipment;
- Generate and interpret test results, ensure credibility of results and accuracy of instruments and test methods. Maintain a high technical standard;
- Ensure optimal maintenance & usage of equipment, including maintain appropriate spares and consumables levels for general lab equipment;
- Participate in writing and electronically updating test methods and relevant lab documents;
- Troubleshoot, and address problems with general lab equipment;
- Expand own fuel product knowledge, analytical skills and understanding of equipment, methods and specifications;
- Expand practical knowledge of relevant products, processes and applications relevant to technical area;
- Take responsibility for personal performance, improvement and skills development;
- Technical competence in the application of computer software and basic presentation skills to be able to report on work progress;
- Share knowledge and skills with project leaders and team members;
- Ensure full compliance to SHERQ requirements and standards;
- Safe operation & maintenance of equipment, including Safe Work Procedures;
- Manage requests on time, within budget, and to quality and customer requirements;
- Resolve work obstacles and issues impacting performance quickly and positively;
- Maintain regular feedback to project leaders, team and manager.
- Identify & share operational improvement opportunities;
- Contribute suggestions to optimize equipment, systems and procedures;
- Scan & share information on new equipment, technical and method developments.
