Short Description / Purpose of Job
Responsible for ensuring that all Sasol Temane Assets is maintained in accordance with all legal requirements. Responsible for ensuring that all Sasol Temane Assets is available as scheduled at all times. Responsible for the developing a high performing, customer focused maintenance team. Responsible for improving work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labour, parts and material, and equipment access to safely ensure or extend the life expectancy of equipment, reduce maintenance cost and increase plant output.
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
- Act as liaison person between Maintenance, Production and other support departments;
- Allow advanced determination of labour resources needed and time required to complete each job (information, labour, materials, equipment, tools, etc);
- Responsible for creating purchasing requisitions for required resources and subsequent Service Entry Sheets for payments;
- Responsible for long and short range planning, regular analysis and prioritization of backlog relative to available resources;
- Provide a central source of information concerning maintenance work, equipment and equipment repair;
- Support CPF team with design and implementation of advanced resource plan allocation and scheduling tool;
- Support team with review of master data in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (Technical Objects, PM Assembly/BOM’s accuracy, PM Plan Task Lists content, resourcing, durations, tools);
- Conduct field observations for improvement of Task Lists and resource planning;
- Support Uploading up-to date Maintenance Strategies into the CMMS;
- Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure that the maintenance programme is strictly adhered to;
- Accurate and on time reporting of the maintenance work and performance indicators;
- Planning and managing maintenance contracted labour, equipment and materials;
- Support maintenance team in the business planning process (budgeting, execution and cost controlling and reporting);
- Support, do planning, co-ordinate and participate actively on review of turnarounds work (ie. GO; Shutdown etc) as per site requirements;
- Overall Support, participation and adherence/compliance to all SHE standards set by the business;
- Required to develop strong working relationships with areas or people with direct link such as the Maintenance Superintendent, Mechanical & C&I Maintenance Team Leaders, Production Team Leaders, Planners/Schedulers, Spares Coordinator, Supply Chain and Stores, Process & Occupational Safety, HR Administration.
Formal Education
- NQF 4 Occupational Trade Qualification, or NQF 4 Qualification (with the NQF 4 Occupational Trade Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical) or Technical Medium Level Mechanics or Electricity.
Min Experience
- 5+ relevant years experience in relevant field as a Maintenance Artisan and identified and measured Leadership competency.
Other relevant abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels both within and outside the company;
- Good understanding of Asset Management practices and procedures and the ability to integrate maintenance activities within process operations;
- Solid knowledge on SAP system;
- Understating of the various statutory regulations relating to the industry as well as company policies, in particular those relating to SHE;
- Fluent in English (writing, speaking and understanding);
- Computer skills (Excel, MS Project, Power point, etc).
Certification & Professional Membership
Certifications relevant to Planning and Scheduling will be advantageous
