Purpose of Job

To lead PPA & PSA  asset reliability and integrity team, provide technical support and expertise in the areas of reliability and integrity: drive the entire PPA & PSA  reliability and integrity critical processes; analysis, assessments, integrity repairs, quality assurance,  data analysis, management, data integration review, lead integrity project optimization, and plan and budget with risk  and facilitate the implementation of reliability and integrity management programs.

This role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence, safety, and sustainability by driving proactive maintenance strategies, risk-based inspection programs, and reliability-centered initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies to maximize asset uptime and reduce unplanned outages;
  • Analyze equipment performance data to identify failure modes and root causes;
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and extend asset life cycles;
  • Develop and oversee integrity management systems for pipelines, pressure vessels, rotating equipment, and production facilities;
  • Ensure compliance with international standards (API, ASME, ISO) and Mozambican regulatory requirements;
  • Lead risk-based inspection (RBI) and fitness-for-service (FFS) assessments;
  • Provide technical leadership in reliability and integrity across upstream and midstream operations;
  • Support operations teams in troubleshooting chronic equipment issues,  managed root cause analysis exercises and implementing corrective actions;
  • Ensure alignment of reliability programs with production targets and business objectives;
  • Ensure compliance to the Pressure Equipment Regulations (PER), Health and Safety Standards, and corporate requirements (including PSM and Insurer requirements);
  • Champion process safety and integrity assurance across facilities and pipelines;
  • Lead hazard identification (HAZID), Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOP), and risk assessments related to asset integrity;
  • Develop emergency response strategies for integrity-related incidents;
  • Manage a team of reliability and integrity engineers and practioners, inspectors, and Document controllers;
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including operations, maintenance, projects, and SHE (Safety, Health & Environment);
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulators, auditors, and external stakeholders on integrity matters;
  • Give guidance and direction to Sasol Group with regard to the development of new inspection techniques and failure mechanisms;
  • Generate or review comprenhsive reports related to reliability and integrity to the leadership to take informed decisions.
