Purpose of Job
The purpose of this role is to ensure that support is effectively provided to the PSA Integrated Processing Facility (IPF) operations and associated activities, ensuring management of environmental risks and compliance with EIA, EMP, licenses and permits requirements during execution of activities in the field in accordance with the Environmental Game Plan.
Key Accountabilities
• Provide specialist input and technical advice in the PSA operations including the IPF, wells, flowlines, truck stop facility and associated projects (exploration, appraisal and development);
• Manage environmental risks and ensure compliance with EIA, EMP, license and legal requirements at PSA operations and during execution of projects;
• Implement, track and monitor compliance with EMP requirements;
• Coordinate and implement CPF/PSA IPF environmental monitoring program as per EMP requirements;
• Coordinate management of waste (hazardous and non-hazardous) generated at the PSA IPF and associated project areas;
• Collaborate into obtaining and retaining relevant environmental licenses / authorizations;
• Act upon findings from inspections, audits, assurances, environmental monitoring and assessments and take proactive measures to ensure SHE compliance;
• Preparation of internal and external environmental performance reports including submission to the Government and World Bank;
• Manage assigned environmental contracts and service providers;
• Provide specialist input and support into reducing operations and projects environmental footprint and enhancing its environmental performance;
• Provide specialist input and support in responsible resource utilization and the promotion of water and energy efficiency and the minimization of impact on other natural resources;
• Monitor the rehabilitation progress of areas affected by PSA activities;
• Provide specialist input and support into emergency response procedures and ensure scenarios for environmental contamination are defined and tested regularly during emergency exercises;
• Provide specialist input and support in the planning and management of the decommissioning or abandonment of assets and the remediation of the resulting SHE risks;
• Support operations on the development and implementation of GHG emissions reduction initiatives;
• Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner during project execution;
• Manage, develop, coach and mentor Environmental Site Officers (ESO’s), as required.
