Purpose of Job

• To perform technical assessment of electrical improvement projects/ideas raised, for smooth and value-adding implementation.
• To focuse on current and future asset performance improvement opportunities to ensure that optimisation of processes and equipment takes place successfully.
• To liaise with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and OPMs (Original Parts Manufacturers) in discussions of technical matters involving equipment and devices upgrades and installation.
• To utilise authoritative levels of experience in electrical engineering for managing and / or executing complex and / or specialised design, engineering, development, repair and/ or modification of electrical equipment, devices, and plant.
• To coach and guide fellow team members, including maintenance, junior electrical, and production personnel team members in matters related to electrical process and equipment functionality and operability.

Key Accountabilities

• To apply in depth knowledge in the installation, operation, and service of new or old Electrical Equipment/Devices to respond to equipment functionality and business requirements;
• To apply enhanced practical and meaningful steps in Electrical problem-solving methodology and lead the electrical team, or other stakeholders in critical electrical troubleshooting sessions;
• To interpret and translate real business requirements into Electrical engineering strategies and new implemented solutions, responding to production/ business objectives and targets;
• Look ahead and provide short term, intermediate and long-term Electrical solutions, according to business needs;
• Own and be authority of all assets/ plant electrical matters;
• Set criteria for specific electrical maintenance strategies from the specifications/standards and Sasol Mozambique Operations requirements;
• Participate and lead the asset review, spare parts, performance deviations and correction;
• Apply in depth knowledge in integration of electrical network and equipment necessities with regards to process requirements;
• Enhance meaningful steps in electrical problem solving;
• Show ability to provide maintenance management support on complex electrical systems;
• Mitigate electrical risks through engineering out / improvement / renewal / re-design;
• Interpret and translate business requirements into an electrical engineering strategy to enable Sasol Mozambique Operations to safely meet production targets;
• Deliver integrated and in-time electrical technical support to the Sasol Mozambique Operations to improve stability;
• Provide short term, intermediate and long-term electrical solutions to the Sasol Mozambique Operations;
• Provide technical support to address complex electrical problems and minimise production impact;
• Ensure correct root cause is identified and effective corrective actions are implemented to prevent re-occurrence of incidents;
• Interpret results from analysis and monitoring of electrical equipment/systems;
• Provide solutions on integrity issues or re-occurring faults within the plant and formally escalate to Sasol Mozambique Operations integrity meeting for decision making;
• Provide clear guidance on relevant specifications and standards when changes take place in the electrical field for a specific plant;
• Identify technical advanced electrical equipment that can have a significant production impact;
• Interpret and translate business requirements into an electrical engineering strategy to enable Sasol Mozambique Operations to safely meet production targets.
