Purpose of Job
- Executes the instrumentation regulatory compliance and corrective actions for assigned operating units.
- SME for unit specific instrumentation applications as assigned.
- Works closely with the unit, maintenance and technical process colleagues to define improvement opportunities to maximize instrument safety and reliability.
- Creates reliability strategies and tracks effectiveness.
Key Accountabilities
Delivers efficient and effective Instrument Reliability Services by:
- Providing Subject Matter Expertise and advanced field troubleshooting for all instrumentation issues within the assigned units.
- Providing direct support to Maintenance and Operations in driving unit reliability and operational availability.
- Improving and monitoring units’ compliance with all Instrumentation Mechanical Integrity regulatory requirements in-line with Process Safety Management fundamentals. Drives to minimize Continue To Operate waiver scenarios and provides strategies to support continued operation.
- Preparing and communicating instrumented system status/health to stakeholders in support of the Reliability Department's overall communication strategy.
- Creating asset strategies to maximize reliability while minimizing the life cycle costs for instrumentation assets to include facilitating asset criticality analyses, creating PM/PdM strategies tasks steps, and evaluating spare parts.
- Executing bad actor identification and resolution for units of assignment and communicates results to the organization. Utilizes Reliability methods such as root cause failure analysis and failure mode effects analysis to ensure asset reliability.
- Developing, redesigning, and specifying instrumentation for reliability improvement projects to increase MTBF and eliminate repeat failures for assigned units.
- Ensuring relevant Instrumentation Reliability Procedures are current, relevant and in accordance with RAGAGEP and Industry Standards.
Formal Education
- Certificate in Instrumentation – required
- Relevant Associates Degree– preferred
Working Experience
- 6+years of practical instrumentation equipment experience in an industrial facility.
- Experience demonstrates increasing levels of technical competency and responsibility to lead reliability initiatives and drive improvement.
Required Personal and Professional Skills
- Sound knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Team oriented values driven individual demonstrating data driven decision making, cultural sensitivity, business acumen, professional demeanor, excellent time management skills, and unquestionable integrity.
- Demonstrated soft skill expertise as it relates to presentations, public speaking, interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and relationship building.
