Purpose of Job
Support applications research to develop new products and applications to meet existing and emerging customer and market needs
Key Accountabilities
- Manage and maintain a variety of research instruments within the laboratory.
- Supports research projects that address the technical objectives of the research group including measurement of surface activity, rheology and foaming characteristics, synthesis of new molecules and applications testing in a variety of different end use markets.
- Documents results in research reports and presents key finding in group meetings, departmental seminars and industry associate meetings.
- Interacts with manager and group members, and routinely interacts with other research groups in the local laboratory.
- Develops and maintains relationships within research group, LC R&D department, and possibly with contacts outside the R&D department, depending upon the domain of the job.
Formal Education
- Ph.D. in Chemistry (preferred) or other physical science.
Working Experience
- Ph.D. plus 1-2 years relevant experience is preferred.
- Typically regarded as the entry level job for new graduates.
Required Personal and Professional Skills
- Familiar with working in the laboratory
- Strong commitment to safety
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc) and ability to work on instruments with computer interface
- Interpersonal and Self-management Skills
- Communications Skills
