Purpose of Job
Take the lead on building, maintaining and fostering stakeholder relationships in Mozambique, at key provincial and central levels, to identify threats and foster opportunities to enable the growth of Sasol’s business and position Sasol as a partner of choice with key stakeholders in Mozambique. Influence and help shape the Mozambique country strategy based on Sasol’s mandate in the country and assist in its execution. To be recognised as the Sasol In-Country 'ambassador' to the government and other stakeholders, and act as the country gatekeeper for all Sasol activities.
Enhance Sasol’s brand reputation and corporate citizenship role. Define and execute in-country brand reputation and communication activities, as well as define and deliver on Sasol’s Corporate Social Responsibility targets and projects. For South African stakeholder management related to Gas Sourcing, coordinate input and support from
Group Government Relations and Shared Value to define and execute specific strategies for the management of key individual stakeholders within South Africa Relations. Ensure that engagement with stakeholders utilises existing stakeholder relationship owners, whilst achieving the required outcomes for Gas Sourcing.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead Sasol’s Mozambican presence, which will require solid leadership skills with an emphasis on relationship management, communication, people and talent management, collaboration and strategic and tactical direction setting;
- Ability to influence others and secure output without formal authority, particularly in the management of key stakeholders for Gas Sourcing in South Africa. Ensure alignment and delivery of required outcomes through existing relationship holders in South Africa, whilst managing and ensuring delivery of key outcomes of relationships in Mozambique;
- Promote the Sasol 'Brand' in Mozambique and provide cultural understanding to both Sasol and in-country stakeholders to enhance relationships, business and awareness of each other's needs and enhancing understanding by Stakeholders of the Sasol Values;
- Be the “Business Intelligence Watch Tower” for Sasol in the country. Monitor and alert the relevant Sasol authorities of threats and opportunities that could enhance Sasol’s presence in the country;
- Ensure development and execution of Local Development Agreements and delivery of associated projects and initiatives, such as Corporate Social Responsibility projects;
- Report on In-Country office activity plan progress; in-country budget expenditure and compliance with in-country License and Agreements. Host and support the provision of functional services to all businesses operating in Mozambique, whilst adhering to all relevant regulations and licenses;
- Oversee the procurement functional activities in conjunction with Energy Procurement;
- Host and support the provision of Financial and IM services, in conjunction with Energy Finance and IM;
- Ensure all key services and support are delivered to all of Sasol’s businesses operating in the country, with a particular emphasis on Gas Sourcing and Operations and Mozambique Gas Projects;
- Define and execute, in conjunction with Group Government Relations and Shared Value, the stakeholder management plan to deliver on key outcomes with the relevant South African stakeholders.
