Manager Accounting

Purpose of Job

• Manage the accounting functional activities for Sasol (China) Chemicals 
• Provide finance functional support & comply with statutory and business requirements for SCC
• Represent, guide and shape all accounting aspects of SCC's business by taking functional ownership for regulatory & governance aspects of the legal entities, also ensuring fit-for-purpose, accurate and timely local- and group reporting.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

1) Ensure compliance with local statutory- and Sasol Group regulations and guidelines, including communication and implementation of group accounting policies, ensuring tax- and corporate governance compliance as well as statutory reporting and auditing requirements
2) Ensure appropriate, accurate and timely reporting, including securing the accuracy and timeliness of results in the main financial & business reporting systems, support on fit-for-purpose results analysis to both regional management and Chemicals Eurasia finance management 
3) Support the Finance Manager SCC on required financial budgeting and forecasting aspects for SCC
4) Support / provide guidance on financial- and governance aspects such as tax treatment, transfer pricing, functional policies 
5) Manage external service providers to ensure proper and reliable management, governance and financial reporting 
6) Support and lead further systems enablement and -simplification opportunities related to accounting and tax (OS, SAP, BW)
7) Interact with Chemicals Eurasia to align finance activities and -support with the priorities and strategies as set by the other functions and business owners
9) Manage relevant day-to-day accounting- and tax activities

Formal Education

University Degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent

Working Experience

Proven experience in an Accounting / Finance position (5+ years) 

Required personal and professional skills

• Sound knowledge of financial accounting & reporting practices and standards (Chinese   GAAP, IFRS), ERP system concepts (SAP, BW, OneStream) and internal control- & corporate governance principles
• Strong business acumen and sound understanding of the underlying reporting- and tax aspects
• Effective communication and committed team-player
• Excellent English skills
