Purpose of Job
Maintain a diverse set of technologies or platforms spanning applications, databases, low-code platforms such as K2, Power Platform, and OutSystems, as well as the ServiceNow platform, to support enterprise-wide requirements. Provide end-to-end solutions that enhance operational efficiency and ensure SOX compliance. Collaborate with platform teams to deliver technology updates, patches, and resolve issues effectively. Engage with product teams early in the process to incorporate technology considerations into demand evaluation and ensure alignment with architectural standards and principles. Provide IT change and operational support, enhance infrastructure resilience, and enable DevSecOps practices for scalable and agile IT service delivery.
Key Accountabilities
• Manage and optimize low-code platforms (K2, Power Platform, OutSystems) and the ServiceNow platform, including ITSM, ITOM, and ITBM modules.
• Ensure all platforms are up-to-date with patches and updates while maintaining stability and performance.
• Develop and maintain roadmaps for platform enhancements, scaling, and sustainability to meet evolving business demands.
• Facilitate integration efforts across applications, databases, and platforms to support end-to-end business processes.
• Design scalable, secure, and compliant solutions leveraging ServiceNow’s full capabilities, including IT automation and system integrations.
• Develop custom workflows and applications that adhere to industry best practices and business requirements.
• Manage upgrades, patches, and enhancements to ensure ServiceNow platform stability, scalability, and compliance.
• Implement IT General Controls (ITGC) and governance frameworks to maintain SOX compliance, including change control, user access, and audit readiness.
• Conduct periodic access reviews and system audits to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design governance policies covering data security, configuration management, and reporting standards.
• Apply risk management frameworks to identify, assess, and address compliance, security, and operational risks.
• Contribute expertise across all lifecycle phases: discover, mobilize, plan, engineer, deploy, and transition.
• Collaborate with product and solution architects to design solutions aligned with business goals and IM architecture standards.
• Work with delivery teams to incorporate DevSecOps strategies, including continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) and automated testing pipelines.
• Enhance automation and workflow efficiency using advanced platform features and low-code capabilities.
• Drive the adoption of quality assurance and test automation practices across platforms and solutions.
• Identify opportunities for optimization, including automation, platform efficiency, and enhanced governance.
• Build strong relationships with enterprise architects, solution architects, delivery teams, and external vendors to align platform strategies with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate with vendors to maintain SLAs and KPIs for platform performance and service delivery.
• Drive adoption of ServiceNow and low-code platform capabilities across IT and business teams.
• Implement knowledge management practices to document workflows, configurations, and platform updates.
• Propose and execute initiatives for platform enhancement, optimization, or retirement of redundant technologies.
• Apply Sasol Group’s risk management framework and SHE practices to ensure safe and compliant operations.
Formal Education
University Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
Min Experience
6+ years of experience managing and supporting applications, low-code platforms and ServiceNow.
Certification
ServiceNow: Administrator, Developer, or ITSM Implementation Certification.
Low-Code Platforms: Power Platform, K2, or OutSystems certifications.
ITGC and SOX compliance experience.
ITIL 4 Foundation Certification.
Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and automated testing.
