Purpose of Job

Provide an overview of Sasol Oil supply business performance to both finance and business stakeholders (Supply business includes Customer Demand Function and Tank Farm Secunda). Coordinate and standardise statutory reporting, board and governance submissions, monthly management reporting, budgets and forecasting. Work closely with supply and marketing businesses to ensure cost to serve and cash fixed costs are efficiently managed and stringently manage costs.

Support the implementation and application of sound financial management and reporting practices. Manage effective, accurate, and timely reporting to internal stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

Drive the consolidation of the Supply Sasol Oil P&L to provide a single view of the business. Ensuring accuracy in reporting of both supply and tank farm. Ensure that the tank farm recoveries are correct and all Sasol oil spent is recovered from other businesses.

Work closely with business in ensuring proper performance management, provide adequate finance support and assist business in decision making. Identify KPIs to measure the Business Performance and create dashboards to make performance visible.

Provide comprehensive insights through robust analysis and variance analysis of financial results for supply business identifying key results /significant business issues and risks to statutory compliance. Analyse financial and general operating information to identify trends and opportunities. Analyse and validate the business unit budget / forecast results against set targets.

Prepare monthly reports and presentations for the VP Finance, VP Customer Demand Fulfilment and track the financial results of the supply business and advise on any key risks and vulnerabilities or where they may be need for interventions.

Use data analytics and scenario planning to analyse the results, identify trends and anticipate movements in the results.

Participate in business decision making, analyse business performance to support strategic decisions.

Track the financial results, perform business and producing asset profitability analysis (ROIC)

Participate and track Integrated business process and ensure relevant measures are tracked and aligned to strategy.

Analyse and evaluate the impact of key regulatory and economic indicators changes on profit expectations.

Assist in setup of the Onestream/Reporting factory to enable complete and standardised reporting for Sasol Oil.

Manage key deliverables to the Business Controlling team (PVPY, Quarterly BPM, Analyst book information, Roadshow files etc).

Maintain sound internal controls over financial reporting and compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX). Embed proper governance and strengthen internal control environment through review and audits. Review business controls to ensure effectiveness and adherence thereto is in place.

Identify improvements and changes required to processes and systems and drive automation. Drive automation of the standard reporting to minimise human intervention.

Manage data sources underpinning the standardised reporting to ensure data integrity and accurate reporting.

Drive the mapping of business and financial processes to support internal control assertions. Manage engagement with all stakeholders, including business management, internal and external auditors.

Formal Education

University Bachelors Degree in Finance

Working Experience

9 years of relevant experience

Petrochemical experience and knowledge of Supply and Marketing channels will be an advantage.
