Purpose of Job
The role is focused on assisting in the design and implementation of minimum reward standards, group reward policies, practices and plans in support of the group’s Reward philosophy and strategy as well as statutory compliance.
The role will require to do extensive benchmark, determine peer groups, collate feedback and interpret results and give strategic guidance into the formulation of the relevant policies as well the Group Remuneration and Implementation report.
Key Accountabilities
Design and implement together with related Reward areas a global RAPID risk framework addressing reward practices. • Responsible for establishing and leading a Global Reward Community of Practice Forum to ensure global consistency in interpretation and application of group policies. • Design and compile the annual remuneration and implementation report to comply with all relevant legislation, including assisting the design and type set team with the review and amendments of the reports. • Co-responsible with relevant stakeholders to ensure the Executive directors, Prescribed Officers and Non-Executive directors remuneration disclosures are compiled. • Assist in the design and implementation of group minimum reward standards and policies. • Provide advice and support in the translation of group policies and standards, plans etc. into regional / BU policies, procedures, and plans addressing requirements on local issues relating to reward and benefit matters ensuring that there is consistency in the interpretation of policies and implementation thereof. • Provide expert advice and quality solutions to strategic or policy related reward issues to various internal stakeholders. • Guide and educate remuneration specialists and HR partners in the consistent application of policies. • Conduct regular follow up with clients to ensure that services are meeting/exceeding expectations and that there are no attraction nor retention concerns relating to reward practices. • Assist in ensuring the compliance of practices against minimum standards and policies and ensure that exceptions outside of approved Delegation of Authority are escalated to the relevant senior stakeholder. • Analyse group metrics and report the insights and suggest gap closing measures. • Regular attendance of reward community forums, self-study of international reward governance practices. • Keep abreast of global reward practices and advise the group, with special impact on reward governance. • Assist in the development of reward plans that integrate talent management and support OD practices driving a high performance culture. • Assist with the compilation and submission of documents for inclusion in the GEC Employee and Remco and Sasol Ltd Remco packs. This includes submissions on all group policies and plans. • Responsible for the design of all group policies, ensuring these contribute to the Sasol EVP aiding retention of talent, desired culture and strategic objectives. • Ensure all group plans conform to group policy standards, external shareholder and stakeholder requirements, and are compliant. • Assist Group Finance, SHE and HR with collating of group results for reporting on STI and LTI measures. Co-responsible for governance and approval of plan final results. • Ensure correct governance is followed within the BUs for completion of the annual increase process. • Ensure Remco approved rules and principles for the annual increase process are duly followed by BUs. • Responsible for the preparation and completion of the increase and variable pay schedules for the Group Executive and their direct reports in line with governance protocol.
Formal Education
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree
Relevant Post Graduate Honours Degree (will be an advantage)
Working Experience
Certification and Professional Membership
A SARA GRP certification will be an advantage
