MSA: SA Chemicals Marketing & Sales

Purpose of Job

To deliver on the short-term and long-term targets of revenue, gross margin, fixed costs, working capital and customer satisfaction within a framework of safety and compliance.

To specifically ensure that the M&S business objectives including margin improvement, sales growth, reduction in order cycle times and contributing to successful strategic projects are achieved.

Key Accountabilities

Deliver Base Chemicals working capital objectives such as reducing deep sea brought forwards.

Implement established sales policies, procedures, and practices to meet requirements supporting short and long-term business needs.

Develop and attain key performance indicators for implemented sales strategies.

Sell-out allocation of product within assigned markets of responsibility (across Global Markets, Africa Markets and Cross Border).

Maintain accuracy of all forecasts submitted per product and area with adherence to planning guidelines.

Excel on price negotiations with attention to business guidelines and market movements.

Focus on customer service – both direct customers and distributors.

Work with the various business stakeholders (P&O, Supply Chain, M&S Services, Credit Management, Finance) to ensure delivery of the Export sales plan and overall business objectives.

Take full accountability for own customer accounts including payment, credit, complaints, and deliveries.

Conduct sales analytics and report writing.

Ability to cover for other Sales Managers in the rest of the export markets.

Support and coach the export sales support team members.

Demonstrate commercial acumen, a global mind-set and exercises sound judgement. Achieves results through others and holds them accountable.

Persuade and influences stakeholders; builds relationships and partnerships for win-win outcomes.

Build teams and create synergies through working across boundaries.
