Purpose of Job
Implementation of TCO ideas to reduce external expenditure and improve efficiency in service delivery.
Develop EC&I commodity cost drivers, conducted/support RFQ processes, developed should-cost models and successfully lead/facilitate negotiations with suppliers to ensure best industry rates achieved on contract.
Obtain support for total cost of ownership ideas by creating detailed and workable proposals, considering the strategic, commercial, economic, financial and management implications.
Create, document, and deliver structured and compelling commodity sourcing plans, based on data-driven insights, stakeholder needs and business objectives within a recognised strategic sourcing process.
Develops close relationships with suppliers, generating trust, maximising mutual value, and reducing risk.
Assess and improve on suppliers' ability to deliver against agreed objectives and works to enhance suppliers' capabilities in line with Sasol's needs.
Protect the organisation by identifying, assessing, and mitigating source of supply and supplier risks.
Key Accountabilities
Develop full agile sourcing project (micro-battle) roadmaps, define resources, roles, and responsibilities, develop high level stakeholder management plan.
Identify EC&I commodity buy- and spend-better initiatives, with clearly defined and measurable criteria (KPI’s).
Develop full agile sourcing project (micro-battle) solutions and scaling plans.
Develop plans for full agile sourcing projects (micro-battles) aligned with the value release model for the organisation.
Support EC&I commodity RFQ processes by developing rate builders required to construct bid forms for various Coupa events.
Create EC&I commodity should-cost models to ensure best in industry rates are contracted.
Through the development of should-cost models and fact-based analysis - facilitate/lead/support EC&I supplier negotiations to achieve a successful and sustainable (win-win) outcome.
Compliance with policies and procedures in the execution of sourcing for EC&I commodities.
Ensure completion of assignments with focus, applying relevant methods to ensure completion.
Foster a healthy team culture, inspire, and motivate to achieve high performance.
Perform in-depth spend analytics, develop comprehensive cost saving calculations to support EC&I commodity buy and spend-better initiatives, subsequently recording derived value on the organisation’s value release reporting system (also known as ARC).
Intermediate experience in loading buy and spend-better related initiates into the organisation’s value release reporting system (ARC), and maintaining thereof (providing regular status updates, reporting etc.)
Identify potential SME’s, QSE’s and EME’s for the various EC&I commodities, and work with/support ESD where required for the various TCO ideas.
Ensure EC&I suppliers submit transformation plan if level drops or not transformed.
Render guidance, mentoring and support on leverage sourcing to Team members of the team where required.
Foster relationships with Sponsors and Senior Managers (where applicable) for the successful implementation and roll-out/scaling of TCO ideas.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to manage issues or concerns.
Identify problem areas and address by implementation of plans for training / development / work management.
Deliver qualitative, efficient, and effective commodity strategies based on TCO principles, driving value beyond cost savings/continuous value.
Key Accountabilities
Strategically manage commodity portfolio to drive security of supply, risk mitigation and reduced cost base.
Consider and balance business- drivers and risks to maintain required plant availability at the most optimal landed cost possible.
Execute sourcing events in accordance with sourcing plan directives.
Stay up to date with industry, market, process, and technology trends and apply knowledge to investigate potential suppliers as well as conduct evaluations, certification audits, and quality quarantine audits on existing and potential suppliers.
Understand changing business needs, analyse spend data, research trends and market dynamics to identify improvement opportunities and recommend new sourcing practices.
Collaborate with supply chain delivery partners to support operating model entities’ spend goals, performance standards and output targets are achieved.
Aid business units in relation to ongoing management of contracts, reviewing contract variations, and supplier exit plans for key suppliers.
Perform Category Management processes aligned with requirements and adhere to Sasol compliance requirements, SHE practices and operating standards.
Collectively work with category managers to develop processes that embed innovation and agility in the category management sourcing process.
Provide technical expertise by evaluating supplier responses and preparing technical recommendations for supplier award process.
Support/Perform issue resolution processes of supplier service and quality issues.
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of commodity strategies in operating model entities and identify enhancement opportunities.
Develop metrics and KPIs to measure supplier performance.
