Purpose of Job
Responsible for architecting and designing comprehensive infrastructure solutions that meet business needs in support of application solutions by translating those needs into solution specific architecture and designs. Work closely with the IM Senior Specialist: Infrastructure & Cloud Platform, Applications Solution Architecture and the Business Analyst to bring in the technology considerations and opportunities in the demand evaluation. Ensure that solutions designs are aligned to IM’s architecture standards and principles, and leverage common solutions and services, as well as meet financial targets.
Key Accountabilities
• Supports Applications Solution Architects regarding Server, Storage and Backup Solution Architect architecture related concerns and direction.
• Design architectures based on specific business constraints, requirements and dependencies.
• Translate requirements into high-level and detailed technical designs (e.g. Conceptual Architecture, Solution Architecture and Solution Design) that satisfy customer expectations and technology standards.
• Contribute to analysis and evaluation of technology needs, costs and benefits of the solution.
• Design architecture components, including design and documentation of infrastructure architecture systems and solutions.
• Ensure Requirements Management, Service Design, Process Design and Solution design for Infrastructure solutions and services.
• Prepare proposals for optimisation, upgrades, retirement and/or replacement of infrastructure technology.
• Collaborate with Delivery Management to develop DevOps technology strategy and implementation frameworks to align with the different technology roadmaps.
• Drive buy-in and adoption of technology enhancements and upgrades.
• Collaborate with delivery management to ensure that all IT Infrastructure Technology adheres to Deployment, Transition & Change Management practices.
• Ensure that all Infrastructure Technology Enablement related solutions and changes are tested in accordance with the Quality Assurance & Testing practices and policies.
• Drive adoption and implementation of quality assurance and test automation practices in the Infrastructure Technology Enablement.
• Work with the Technology Enablement teams to ensure that all infrastructure technology portfolio changes and new solutions are properly managed in the inventory management and hardware asset management.
• Collaborate with service providers and Technology Enablement teams to ensure Infrastructure configuration management completeness, compliance and correctness.
• Manage expectation, engagement and relationships with key stakeholders for Infrastructure technology portfolio.
• Regularly report in relevant management forums on technology health, key issues, roadmap plans.
• Collaborate with other technology enablement team to ensure operations capability maturity and adoption.
• Engage with managed services partners and technology 3rd party suppliers on technology health, improvement and roadmaps.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders at various levels in the organisation by regularly communicating effectively and actively contribute to group discussions with ideas, suggestions and effort.
