Purpose of Job
The Technical Education Execution Specialist is responsible for the effective implementation and execution of Technical High Schools and TVET college programmes and initiatives of the Sasol Foundation. This includes engagement with all relevant parties and stakeholders, ensuring all activities are performed according to a set plan and standards, the monitoring of the programme effectiveness and ensuring the flow of information to the relevant stakeholders. The specialist is also responsible for providing feedback to management to enable the Sasol Foundation to compile reports on their initiatives and the impact achieved in the education field.
Key Accountabilities
- Conduct Needs Analysis: Perform a comprehensive needs analysis to identify, map and recommend Technical High schools and TVET programmes that align with Sasol, community and national priorities.
- Programme Implementation: Oversee the rollout of technical educational programmes in Technical High schools, TVET and selected Community Colleges, ensuring adherence to the Foundation's ambition, mandate and objectives.
- Training and Support: Conduct training needs analysis, put together training plans and provide ongoing support for Technical High schools teachers, TVET College lecturers and facilitators for effective delivery of programmes.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop monitoring and evaluation tools and conduct regular site/project visits to assess the effectiveness of programmes and identify areas for improvement, exit and further support.
- Data Analysis and Maintenance: Collect and analyze data related to programme outcomes, teacher and lecturer training performance, and feedback to inform decision-making and report writing. Maintain database of beneficiaries and their stories and completed programmes and initiatives to measure impact.
- Administration: Manage procurement processes, the appointment of service providers supported by Planning and Supply Chain, supplier workplans and deliverables, conduct and document execution quality assessments and follow up supplier payments.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with DHET, SETA and artisan training providers, and potential partners to foster functional Technical High schools and TVET Colleges. This also involves representing the Sasol Foundation on various platforms to discuss and promote technical initiatives in our communities and schools.
Partnerships
Build and maintain positive relationships with co-funders and service providers to deliver special Technical High schools and TVET College initiatives.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all programme activities comply with relevant regulations and standards; prepare timeous reports for the Foundation and other stakeholders as required.
- Events coordination: Planning, organization and coordination of Sasol Foundation technical events including preparation of briefing notes and managing the SI events calendar.
- Advocacy: Designing career education material, planning and hosting technical career exhibitions that promote technical - vocational education in Technical High schools and TVET Colleges.
Formal Education
- Relevant University Bachelor's Degree/ UoT Degree/ Engineering and related red seal Artisan with Advanced Diploma TVT or PGCE
Min Experience
- 6+ relevant years
- Experience in the Technical education sector and /or SETA environment will be an added advantage
