Purpose of Job
The Manager Regional CSI Programme Execution will manage, support and oversee Sasol’s Socio-Economic Development and Corporate Social Investment programme (CSI) in the relevant region (Region) through the management, support and oversight of the identification, selection and execution of CSI programmes. This includes the management of the Regional Team, setting clear goals, defining roles within the team and ensuring that the team contributes to the execution of Regional CSI programmes as well as support the Sasol Foundation in the execution of programmes. Appointment and management of Implementation Partners identified for the execution of CSI programmes in line with Sasol’s Supply Chain and governance processes within the following focus areas:
• Quality Healthcare;
• Services Infrastructure;
• Safety and Security;
• Environment and Biodiversity; and
• Sasol for Good
Creating genuine, impactful initiatives that align with both community needs and Sasol’s values to foster emotional connections and trust with fenceline communities. Leveraging CSI to create brand love within fenceline communities.
Facilitate the implementation of a one Sasol South African cohesive integrated approach for CSI programmes, while ensuring that all programmes are linked to the national strategic focus areas, local needs and address the findings and recommendation of the various studies conducted.
Identifying and enacting enablers such as policies, procedures, and learning tools; collecting and analysing relevant impact data and information; being a partner with community leaders and peer companies in the design, implementation and measurement of external CSI programmes.
Ensure alignment, support and collaboration with other internal departments such as Regional Operations, Stakeholder Relations, Communications, Shared Value as well as implementation partners and community stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
This position requires a well-rounded approach to CSI, integrating innovative catalytic thinking strategies, managerial and project execution expertise as well as strong relationship-building skills, while fostering a sustainable growth mindset for community empowerment:
• Responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the Region, personnel, resources and associated activities;
• Develop and capacitate the Regional team to deliver impactful CSI programmes in line with relevant focus areas and themes.
• Support the Head: RSA CSI Programme Execution in the implementation of a one Sasol South African cohesive integrated cross functional implementation plan and programme for CSI programmes;
• Understanding of Sasol business strategy and ensure the connection between the regional business agenda, reputation and social issues to ensure delivery and enhancement of Regional CSI programme design and execution;
• Develop creative innovative solutions that address local social challenges and Sasol’s requirements by nurturing continuous improvement and fresh thinking;
• Promote a holistic and cross-functional way of thinking which helps generate more comprehensive, innovative and effective solutions by leveraging diverse knowledge and understanding how various parts influence one another;
• Support the development of a national 5-year implementation plan and develop regional implementation plans to execute the 5-year plan for each individual project, programme or campaign.
• Develop annual budget submissions, budget allocation, prioritisation of funding, programme approvals and cost control for all Regional CSI programmes, projects and campaigns;
• Appointment and management of Implementation Partners identified for the execution of CSI programmes in line with Sasol’s Supply Chain and governance processes
• Oversee the regional execution plans, budgets, reporting, monitoring and evaluation of programmes, projects and campaigns and initiatives to ensure these have a measurable and sustainable impact on the fenceline communities;
• Responsible for the preparation and submission of CSI and related reports within the prescribed timelines to all relevant parties including local leadership;
• Research and identify best practice in the CSI environment and development of winning cutting edge solutions. Identify opportunities to share best practice and knowledge.
• Conduct research, identify gaps and opportunities, build relationships with Non-Profit and Community Based Orginisations, implementation partners in the region and actively pursue collaboration and partnerships with these orginisations and other businesses;
• Risk assessment and license to operate analysis, as well as community engagement in collaboration with Stakeholder Relations;
• Represent Sasol in different regional platforms and forums and deliver high-impact presentations, briefings, and reports to internal and external stakeholders on the results and impact of programmes delivered;
• Ensure the Region implements Sasol Group's risk philosophy and enterprise risk management framework
• Manage and develop the regional CSI team
Formal Education
