Purpose of Job
Performing IPE inspections on fabrication, modification and repairs of Sasol Pressure Equipment for Sasol Sasolburg Plants.
Key Accountabilities
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
- Fabrication, modification and repair IPE Inspections including
- Inspection on pressure vessels
- Inspection on piping systems
- Inspection on tanks
- Inspection on pressure accessories
- Statutory record keeping of interventions on pressure equipment
- Technical input into failure and repair studies
Required Proficiency level: Proficient
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Applicant must be able to work in a petrochemical environment, including
- Vessel entry
- Work in elevated positions
- Work outside in plant environment
- Work in workshops
Formal Education
- Grade 12, Maths & Science / N3 with appropriate subjects (Maths / Science / Drawings)
- SAQCC Inspector of Pressurised Equipment
- SAQCC Competent Inspector Pressure may be advantages
- SAQCC Competent Inspector Steam Generators may be advantages
- Welding inspector Level 1&2
- Codes course
- RT Interpreters course
- Penetrant testing level 1&2 may be advantages
- Magnetic Particle testing levels 1&2 may be advantages
- UT level 1 may be advantages
Working Experience
- 2-4 years work relevant experience in petro-chemical industries
- Working knowledge of and experience in fabrication health and safety standards
