Purpose of Job

To assist Engineers in such activities as generation, transmission, or use of mechanical or fluid energy. To prepare layouts of machinery or equipment or plan the flow of work. To conduct statistical studies or analyse production costs to support operations.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

Consistently deliver solutions contributing to Business Results: improving competitiveness. 
Develop instrumentation scope of work (SOW) for engineering and construction contractors. 
Problem solving related to BU and impact value chain. 
Improve technology application and integration for at least one technology. 
Verify quality of group delivery. 
Independently implement cost effective principle solutions. 
Optimize and control resources cost effectively within budget. 
Establish technical and professional policies, practices, procedures and standards. 
Products, systems, programmes, procedures and models: development and delivery. 
Application, adherence and compliance of legal requirements, policies, practices, standards, procedures, guidelines and methods. 
Monitor performance of implemented solutions. 
Ensure quality analysis, problem solving and decision making. 
Deliver expert solutions to meet changing business and work requirements. 
Extract, capture and disseminate within knowledge management standards. 
Investigate and implement recommendations given on programmes and systems to create competitive advantage. 
Review and report on the process and risk impact with regards to a portfolio of projects. 
Independently implement solutions based on cost effective principles. 
Take corrective action when necessary with maintenance projects. 
Deliver quality cost effective solutions on time and within risk parameters. 
Data assimilation, assessment, interpretation and contextualization for a portfolio of maintenance projects. 
Independent formulation of technical approaches. 
Take responsibility for personal performance, improvement and skills development. 
Support and live the Sasol vision & values through the Aspirational Culture initiative. 
Continuously develop extensive knowledge relating to the field of work and personal mastery in technical skills application. 
Act as coach and mentor within team. 
Review compliance and follow up against the standards and objectives. 
Build strong networks with teams, managers and business leaders to enhance the knowledge base of the company. 
Build and maintain expert network and relationships e.g. customers, suppliers, universities and specialist bodies. 
Liaise with external engineering companies to share knowledge and benchmark. 
Demonstrate influential relationships with manager, peers and company business leaders. 
Liaise with Engineering CoE to determine areas of concern, project risks, long term requirements. 
Maintain healthy and stable relations with contractors, consultants and management. 
Apply a collaborative and consultative approach which consistently meet business needs. 
Communicate best practices, technical reports and positions statements with the appropriate stakeholders. 
Continuously develop extensive knowledge relating to the field of work and personal mastery in technical skills application. 
Ensure that personal development plan is completed, implemented and tracked. 
Take ownership for personal improvement and skills development. 
Enhance own work performance and improve group work processes. 
Expertise transfer share expertise and develop others. 
Plan and maintenance project management. 
Work on a portfolio of maintenance projects. 
Plan and achieve management objectives in technical, professional and expert areas of work.

Formal Education

BTech minimum qualification

Min Experience

8-10 years of experience in either control design or maintenance

Fuel Blending Systems, Honeywell Fuel Blending systems would be an advantage

Tank Gauging Inventory Systems, Honey Enraf would be an advantage

Experience in the reading and interpretation of Sasol 6016 drawings.

Experience on Emergency Shutdown Systems  (HIMA Honeywell
