Purpose of Job

The purpose of the role is to provide continues input and support into maintenance and project planning activities at various business units and apply the planning processes at an operational level. To assist in the planning and execution of maintenance work - all resource need to be confirmed and agreed before execution.

To manage the function of ensuring Business Units (BUs) have rail tank cars that meet requirements in terms of statutory regulations, product specific requirements and Rail Safety Regulator (RSR) requirements as part of the facilities management business process within Outbound Supply Chain operations. The role includes planning and scheduling of maintenance related activities i.e. BT, Lifting and Refurbishment programs and also doing

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan, schedule, organize and control work and projects - work and project plans meet technical / professional objectives.
  • Create, track and follow up on documentation, JCE, PR, PO etc., for service providers with input from maintenance team
  • Responsible for work order control within set targets and according to prescribed standards
  • Maintain and manage a document flow, follow up and feedback process/system.
  • Understands and complies with the relevant and appropriate regulatory, government and legal requirements applicable to maintenance rail tankers. Ensuring that statutory process is maintained and adhered to.
  • Accurate management information and reporting of equipment’s that are in-service and out-of-service
  • Assist maintenance to ensure optimal affectivity of maintenance strategies.
  • Be familiar with materials, services, financial and other planning relates work methods
  • Weekly/Monthly alignment meetings with internal stakeholders and service providers.
  • General Admin office duties – filing, ordering of stationery etc.
