Purpose of Job
The key role of the commercial specialist in coal sourcing is to lead the development, negotiation, and management of robust, cost-effective contracts that align with strategic coal purchasing goals, mitigate risks, and ensure supplier performance to unlock mining value.
Key Accountabilities
- Delivering water-tight, cost-effective contracting capability to enable mining benefits/value release.
- Translates external coal purchases strategies and execution plan into contract terms and conditions to realise the identified benefits.
- Lead and execute all aspects related to the establishment and management of contracts for coal purchase portfolio, including contract negotiations, review, and lifecycle management.
- Pre-empt/Identify, evaluate, and advise on and manage all potential contractual problems, issues, and risks within coal purchases portfolio.
- Enable mining benefits/value release through the delivery of a water-tight and cost-effective contracting capability.
- Ensure that robust contract management and review processes and procedure are in place to manage and mitigate risk in the organization.
- Monitor and address coal supplier performance issues.
Formal Education
University Bachelor’s Degree (Commercial/Law/Business/Technical/Law/Statistics)
Supply Chain/Procurement related postgraduate studies
Working Exprience
Experience: more than 11 years working experience
More than 5 years’ experience in mining industry
