Purpose of Job

  • To provide technical support to maintenance managers and foreman by applying theoretical skills and making suggestions and independently implementing solutions to optimize systems.
  • Responsible for implementing short, medium and long term projects and for developing and implementing systems and maintenance strategies.
  • Effective maintenance of the plant to ensure availability and reliability of the plant equipment and facilities. Maintenance responsibilities will be coordinated through preventative and corrective maintenance strategies

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver targets (e.g. tons, products, services)
  • Ensure that work standards are met according to quality, quantity and due dates.
  • Achieve delivery targets (e.g. tons, maximise availability of equipment, Business Unity and discipline specific)
  • Optimize and control resources effectively.
  • Perform all tasks cost consciously.
  • Independently gather information and data accumulation.
  • Achieve safety and risk objectives.
  • Apply safety in all practices, specifically project planning and execution.
  • Leadership, people management and values
  • Understand the company vision and values.
  • Demonstrate the desired behaviours in agreement with the Sasol Values.
  • Improve own skills and knowledge.
  • Take ownership for person’s improvement and skills development.
  • Ensure that personal plan is completed, implanted and tracked.

Formal Education

National Certificate/N3 with Maths, Science & English (Must)

National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Must)
