Purpose of Job
Support Sasol’s Socio-Economic Development and Corporate Social Investment programme (CSI) through CSI programme execution which includes cost, quality and schedule control for the Secunda region, including enablement of the planning processes, to achieve business objectives which benefits fenceline communities.
Implementation of a region-specific integrated community developed plan for community development projects, programmes and campaigns while ensuring the projects and programmes are linked to the national strategic focus areas.
Identification of CSI programmes such as health and wellness, safety and security, environmental and infrastructure, ensuring the projects and programmes are linked to the strategic CSI focus areas and business requirements. This includes the preparation of submissions for approval, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of projects.
Facilitate the implementation of infrastructure and CSI projects and programmes to ensure projects, programmes and campaigns are implemented according to the applicable plan and achieves the desired impact, managing data collection, analysis and reporting.
Key Accountabilities
This position requires a well-rounded approach to community development, integrating technical experience with project management and relationship-building skills, while fostering sustainable growth and community empowerment:
• Understanding of Sasol business strategy to ensure delivery and enhancement of CSI programme design.
• Ensure that programmes and projects are designed, planned, and managed according to set principles and selected criteria.
• Ascertain that projects are executed according to plan, in a cost-effective way, and meet the set objectives, standards and quality.
• Identification, selection, design and implementation of CSI projects, programmes and campaigns in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Ensure projects align with community needs, priorities, and funding requirements.
• Prepare submissions for the approval of projects, programmes and campaigns with clear deliverables and indicators to measure the outcome and impact of the projects and programmes.
• Preparation of implementation plans which includes individual and consolidated plans for all projects and plans for each individual project, programme or campaign.
• Appointment and management of Implementation Partners identified for the execution of CSI programmes in line with Sasol’s Supply Chain and governance processes.
• Monitoring and evaluation of programmes, ensuring milestones are met, on time and within budget and the desired impact is achieved.
• Assessment of the impact, benefit and sustainability of programmes and recommendation to proceed or suspend programmes.
• Support the budget formulation process, tracking expenditure, updating the budget spend in line with project implementation and disbursement of funds.
• Preparation and consolidation of data and reports and ensuring information is captured on the relevant platforms.
• Provide supporting documentation and evidence for BBBEE compliance verification and audits.
• Prepare high-impact presentations, briefings, and reports on the results and impact of programmes delivered.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to enhance the flow of information and address concerns.
• Identification of partnership and collaboration opportunities and partner identification and facilitate co-funding of programmes.
Formal Education
