Purpose of Job

  • Packaging and shipping processor is responsible for staging of feed to all onsite equipment for processing and transferring of discharged product to designated locations
  • Unloading of raw feed and loading of finished products for all delivery trucks arriving onsite. Inventory control of raw and processed materials through adherence to set operating procedures
  • Packaging of finished Alumina product per established procedural guidelines for temporary inventory or for immediate customer order pickup and completing appropriate batch documentation
  • Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse conducive to the packaging of Ultra High Purity finished products
  • Conduct weekly inventory of all packaging supplies and inform warehouse Lead and/or Packaging Supervisor of needed packaging supplies

Key Accountabilities

• Perform accurate material movement as per transfer sheet by verifying batch numbers on both run sheet and barrel removed from warehouse and updating transfer sheet with new location rack • Collect Material Accounting hard copy sheets from control room J or digital version from Shift/Packaging Supervisor for completed equipment discharges. Material movement shall be performed within the site by accurately filling out material transfer sheet with new rack locations and submitting completed material transfer sheet to packaging and shipping supervisor • Perform weekly inventory of all packaging supplies from packaging inventory list noting minimum on hand quantities and report material shortages or re-order points to Warehouse Lead and/or Packaging Supervisor • Load shipments as directed by BOL number and as approved by Packaging Supervisor and Packaging Coordinator. Perform document review, physical verification, and complete shipment documents accurately and completely as per appropriate procedure • Perform inventory cycle count for location and weight checks as per appropriate procedure • Perform packaging equipment inspection and any deficient found shall be reported to supervisor • Collected sample is properly labelled sample bottled, log sample submission and drop off sample in designated location • Keep packaging area clean and organized at the barrel dumpers free of all debris and items which could contaminate finished product. Clean all equipment between packaging runs to avoid cross contamination including drum dumper, hopper, hoses, and iris valves. Keep all bags, containers, drums, and sacks closed except during filling process, then immediately reseal when process is completed • Package finished goods for shipment as per packaging run and appropriate procedure. Verify batch number on barrels used matches batch number of pick list. Accurately complete packaging batch documentation • Using heat gun for shrink wrap process. All packaged materials receive a shrink wrap cover to protect the contents of boxes or bags and the application process involves using a propane powered heat gun to shrink the bag to fit the shipping container. Proper PPE hand protection and awareness to the burn hazards in this process must be recognized • Perform tasks as assigned by packaging and shipping supervisor

Formal Education

High School / School Diploma or similar

Working Experience

  • 1+ year’s experience in a manufacturing or packaging and shipment warehouse environment

Required Personal/Professional Skills

  • Proficiency in native-level English
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs
  • Must be able to wear respirator
  • Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 52 lbs.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
